Recently, in Ahmedabad, at a signal I saw an old man and his young son taking a cartload full of stuff somewhere. The cart was being pulled by a huge cow, a beautiful animal. Due to the high levels of air pollution here, especially in winters, big fat tears were rolling down the beautiful creature’s serene face. It was a heart-breaking sight. What people we are, that animals are also paying the price for our wrecking the planet. I cannot imagine what that cow must be experiencing as it makes its way across the city with its loud horns, crazy traffic, and impatient people. If only they could talk.
